The A. A. Bakhrushin museum is the largest Russian theatre collection and one of the best in all the world, today it comtains over 1,5 millions of items. Among them there are works by Bakst, Benois, Golovin, Kustodiev, Dobuzhinskiy, Korovin, Roerich, Ekster and other outstanding artists.
Permanent exhibition devoted to the Russian musical and dramatic theatre of the XIX century and temporary exhibition presenting the
production of "Masquerade" by Vs. Meyerhold and A. Golovin are shown in the museum's main building. The museum also posesses a number of branches: memorial houses of A. Ostrovsky and M. Ermolova, memorial apartments of Vs. Meyerhold, G. Ulanova, Mironovs' and Menaker actors' family.
